The space
SLEEPING
Upstairs you’ll have a small room with double- sized vintage poster bed and desk, a long (but low ceiling) attic-like room with queen bed and single bed and games and a game table, and a master bedroom with big king bed, electric fireplace, TV with firestick, loveseat and chair, and big windows looking out to the neighborhood and mountains beyond. Downstairs there’s a queen bed room with french doors and sitting area.
BATHROOM
Unfortunately there is only one bathroom in the house and it’s located on the first floor. But it’s cute! Soak in the vintage clawfoot tub, or use it as a shower (does require stepping into the tub, which some guests with mobility/balance issues may struggle with). Plenty of towels plus toiletries provided.
LOUNGING
The living room enjoys big beautiful windows looking out to the historic neighborhood and mountains beyond, with stained glass and transom windows. The large sectional sofa has mechanical recliners on both ends plus USB plugs for charging up your phones or iPads. The tv is on a mobile stand and can be moved closer, and there is a game system, DVD player and DVDs stored in the rolling tv cabinet. There is also a desk and vintage desk chair in front of the window for working under natural light with a view. There are also sitting areas in two of the bedrooms, at the top of the stairs, and outside on the front patio and back covered porch; readers will have plenty of places to curl up with a good book!
COOKING/DINING
Cook up a gourmet meal in the remodeled kitchen with stainless appliances, tons of storage, slate tile and granite. The dining area next to the kitchen is the central hub of the home with chandelier and tall windows and seats for up to 8. There is also a propane grill outside and a small table for two to eat at on the front patio (yes just a few feet away from the sidewalk, but don’t worry, we’re all friendly here!). Or skip the cooking and walk the couple blocks to great restaurants in town!
Note that despite this being a single family house, there is very little yard and almost no grass, due to the small lot and landscaping.
Guest access
Guests will have the whole property to themselves, except for the garage which we keep locked for our personal storage.
Other things to note
Things to note: the stairs to the second floor are a little steep. There is a bedroom with queen bed on the first floor for those that may need to frequently use the restroom at night and don’t want to go up and down the stairs, but this bedroom is right off the dining area so it is less private than the upstairs rooms.
